More and more adult are seeking orthodontic treatment to fix their smile now. Invisalign is a good, esthetic option to align your teeth. But before you dive in, you need to know if you are a good candidate for Invisalign. Here are 4 things that will help you and your orthodontist make that decision
What is the problem area and how complicated that is?
Some things are easier to fix with Invisalign. Not all cases can be corrected with Invisalign. If you have some spaces in between your teeth or some crowding, you might be a good candidate for Invisalign. Dr. Sepi will do an extensive exam to determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign.
How committed are you to wearing your aligners?
If you are planning on doing Invisalign, you will be responsible for wearing your aligners. You will take them out to eat, drink and brush and then you have to remember to put them back on. If you do not wear the aligners enough, you will not get the results you are looking for. Unlike aligners, braces are fixed to your teeth and you do not have to worry about remembering to wear them. Adults and older teenagers are usually good candidates for Invisalign, but younger kids might forget to wear their aligners regularly.
Have you had a simulation of your smile done?
Want to know what it could potentially look like if you were to do braces or Invisalign? When you schedule an appointment at iSmile Orthodontics, Dr. Sepi and her staff will do a scan of your teeth. We will then be able to do a simulation of your future smile. That simulation, although not 100% accurate can give you a pretty good idea of what it could all look like when you are done with treatment.
